Big B’s Texas BBQ Plans Opening for Relocated Third Restaurant

Despite the well-known difficulty of the summer months for restaurants of all kinds, Big B’s Texas BBQ is having a good summer. The brand, which closed its third location on Fort Apache just after Mother’s Day, is preparing to open a new third outpost at 8125 W Sahara Avenue , in the West Sahara Promenade business center. (Big B’s also has restaurants Henderson and the southwest area).

Owner Brian Buechner says a remarkable brand loyalty has been keeping business steady throughout the summer.

“We have people driving all the way from Fort Apache,” Buechner told What Now on Wednesday. “When we closed there, we saw an immediate 15% revenue jump at the other locations, so we haven’t felt the summer slowdown. It’s been crazy the number of people calling us to ask when the new store is opening. I never dreamt we would be at that point.”

The new location—which is planned for October, although everything depends on the gods of the permitting process—will offer the same favorites available at Big B’s other locations.

“We go through more brisket than anything else,” Buechner said. “Along with pulled pork, sausages, wings, and of course our catering. We’re not going to deviate super far from what we’ve been doing, but we are going to add some specialty items from our secret menus.”

These include Buechner’s chicken-fried ribeye (on Fridays and Saturdays) and birria tacos (days TBD).

“They’ll be things that are my favorite foods to cook, and things we’re really missing in the valley.”
