A Second Murfreesboro Location of First Watch is in Development

First Watch , an American breakfast and brunch chain, is constructing a new location in Murfreesboro.

Yanahli Group South Church Street Development mentioned plans for building several restaurants and retail spaces in a recent agenda for a Murfreesboro city council meeting. In a sewer allocation variance request, Yanahli Group is credited with planning four restaurants on South Church Street site.

Yanahli Group posted an update on their LinkedIn page revealing First Watch would be a part of what they have called ‘South Boro Development’.

What Now Nashville reached out to First Watch to confirm plans for 2977 S Church Street. First Watch’s Director of Operations Jason Rudesill offered some insights on development plans.

“ Back when our original Murfreesboro restaurant opened in 2012, it was our first not only in the region but also in Tennessee as a whole,” said Rudesill. “We’re excited our second Murfreesboro location will build on more than decade of local enthusiasm toward our fresh take on breakfast, brunch and lunch – with a new restaurant build, too, including an outdoor patio and dedicated bar.”

First Watch is known for serving made-to-order breakfast, brunch and lunch meals. Menu items include benedicts, waffles, pancakes, French toast, breakfast tacos, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. The drink menu revolves around coffee and all-natural juices.

In opening this second location in Murfreesboro, First Watch is striving to be mindful about future employees’ work–life balance.

“We also anticipate this new restaurant being a welcoming place for local team members, too,” said Rudesill. “The Murfreesboro location will operate on a one-shift a day, ‘No Night Shifts Ever’ approach, so our teams can greet the sunrise but be home before the sun sets – ultimately leading to a better quality of life.”

The new 3,900-square-foot restaurant is in the early stages of construction on South Church St. The other Murfreesboro location of First Watch debuted in 2016 at 1970 Medical Center Pkwy., Suite A.

“Currently, we serve breakfast, brunch and lunch at 12 locations across Williamson, Davidson, and Rutherford counties,” confirmed Rudesill. “Our new Murfreesboro location will be our 15th in the region, as we anticipate opening two other restaurants – one in Columbia and the other in Morristown – also by the end of 2024. Our network of neighborhood restaurants encompasses over 530 restaurants in 29 states.”

The new Murfreesboro location at 2977 S Church St is expected to open around early December.
