North Carolina Black Bear Takes Her Cubs To The Local Playground

Black bears just want to have fun. There's no better way to tucker out the little ones than taking them to the local playground. That's true for humans, and as we can see in this video below, it's also rings true for black bears. Gabriella Joan captured video of this black bear family having a fun morning at the park and sent the footage in to her local news station. The clip shows a mother bruin and her two cubs utilizing all that the playground has to offer, but specifically getting a kick out of the swing set and the slide. While the sow carefully watched over her cubs (just as a responsible mother would during a visit to the playground), the two playful balls of fur ran amuck in the play area - as if it were solely there for bears to enjoy. They first messed around with the swing set, standing up on their hind legs and clumsily pushing the swings back and forth. Sadly, they didn't get up into the swings themselves. That would have been a sight to see, but it wasn't an all around disappointment from a viewing perspective. That's because when the two younglings made it over to the main playground area, they had the time of their lives on the slick blue slide. And they knew exactly what they were doing. Though the two cubs wrestled here and there, they spent most of their time sliding down the steep, sloping surface - then climbing back up the stairs to do it all again. It's hard to watch wild animals living out your carefree dreams. The only thing that would have made this video better is if the mother bear would have taken on the big blue slide. Unfortunately that didn't happen - at least not on camera. However, something tells me that with how much these cubs love sliding, they'll eventually convince their mother to do so too.
