That’s some damn country music right there.

If you’re not already on the Zach Top bandwagon, you’re missing out on one of the best old-school country artists out there right now. With his traditional honky tonk sound and killer songs like “Sounds Like the Radio” and “I Never Lie,” the future is bright for the Nashville newcomer – and that means the future is bright for traditional country music.

Of course Lainey Wilson is also another one who’s blown up over the past couple of years with her signature “Bell Bottom Country,” winning Entertainer of the Year at both the CMA and ACM Awards and embarking on her own headlining Country’s Cool Again tour. And she brought Zach Top out on the road with her.

During her shows, Lainey’s been performing a mashup of some classic country hits, including songs like Hank Williams’ “Hey Good Lookin’,” Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man,” and “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis.

And during her recent show at the Orion Amphitheatre in Huntsville, Alabama, Lainey welcomed Zach back out on stage to cover another country classic, “Take This Job and Shove It” by Johnny Paycheck.

The song was, of course, written by David Allan Coe, who originally pitched it to George Jones before Paycheck personally called and asked to record it.

Despite not knowing who Paycheck was, DAC agreed to allow him to record it – but then got annoyed that people thought Johnny Paycheck had written the song, and released his own song “Take This Job and Shove It Too” that included a shot at Paycheck in the lyrics.

But anyway, the song was a massive hit for Paycheck, hitting #1 on the charts and becoming one of his signature songs.

And Zach Top and Lainey Wilson did it justice together:
