Moose Nearly As Tall As House Peers Though Windows Of Colorado Home

Might need to get some blinds to deal with these nosy neighbors.

Though if you don’t mind having families of moose (I always want to say “meese” there) stop by, the floor to ceiling windows in this Colorado home are ideal for wildlife viewing. And that’s certainly true when wild animals get this close – and appear to be peering through the windows.

People don’t realize how big these creatures really are, so seeing one this close to a home and almost being eye level with the roof line should paint a clearer picture. Moose are the largest of all deer in the deer family, and males are typically bigger than females. On average, bull moose stand at 6 feet tall at their shoulders, and can even weigh up to 1,400 pounds, while cows usually top out at 1,000 pounds (and can also reach as high as 6 feet).

This mother and her two calves aren’t the largest moose you’ll ever see, but they’re still nothing to sneeze at. And they are certainly intimidating getting this close to a home:

Sheesh… I wouldn’t mind plopping down in one of those chairs or that hot tub and watching my own personal, live viewing of “Planet Earth.”

Social media users that came across the footage couldn’t believe how big the mamma moose was as it walked by the home, leaving comments under the video saying:

“You can really get a sense of their size standing on the patio!”

“This is actually the best representation of just how large these animals are.”

“Oh my gosh! We got deer aplenty but this mama moose is a whole different story – she’s HUGE.”

“This is what happens when you build your mountaintop dream home in moose territory.”

And I have to take a moment to single out a reply that really caught me off guard. Somehow in just three sentences, this Instagram user offered up a hilarious twist-ending observation:

“Very dangerous situation. If they find a way inside, and use the hot tub, you’re NEVER getting rid of them. They’re going to be there every Saturday night.”

    Didn’t even consider that being a possibility…
