Carrie Underwood Returns To The ‘Sunday Night Football’ Open For 12th Straight Year

She's BACK. Announced today, Carrie Underwood is officially set to return to TV screens across America very soon, as she will perform the Sunday Night Football show open on NBC for the 12th straight year. The full video and performance will debut on Sunday, September 8th ahead of the Rams-Lions playoff rematch for the opening week of NFL regular season play. The slightly-altered tune celebrates the SNF “road show” that visits different NFL cities each weekend, and Carrie performed it once again at The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, where her current REFLECTION Las Vegas residency is taking place. She says filming it and being part of SNF in such a big way is something she always looks forward to: "It was so much fun to welcome the Sunday Night Football team back to the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas. Shooting the new show open is always something I look forward to, and Tripp and the whole creative team brought it yet again, and we had a great day putting on an exciting new performance. Like everybody else, I’m waiting all day for Sunday night!" Amen to that, Carrie... football season is so close I can taste it, so I'm glad we won't have to wait much longer for NFL and college to officially kick off. Per the usual, the video itself will look a bit different each weekend depending on the game’s location and what the matchup is, and in addition, the lyrics will change slightly depending on the teams featured that week.
