For the love of the game. There's a select group of people out there that simply can't wait for the next couple of weeks to go by. Besides a couple of fantasy football drafts here and there, NFL fans have September 5th circled on their calendar - and have had it circled ever since the last snap of the Super Bowl. That's the day that NFL football returns. For some, there's nothing better than when Monday and Thursday nights are dedicated to football, and the schedule for Sunday is completely taken up by non-stop gridiron action. It really doesn't matter
what the NFL charges for its Sunday Ticket package - most NFL fans will pay the toll in order to get to watch hours upon hours of pro football. As beautiful as it all sounds, there's always another group of people that absolutely despise this upcoming time of the year: Significant others. Weekends that were free are now suddenly taken up by around-the-clock football, and there's not much one can do to pull a football fan off their couch and away from their TV during football season ( except for ill-timed weddings ). So one man decided to get out in front of the issue and wrote a letter to his wife, Calli, putting in his "two weeks notice," which is really just a 14-day warning for when the NFL season starts. He's currently going viral for doing so - as he should. This is one of the most well-crafted, thought-out ideas the sports world has ever seen. The video shows his wife reading the letter, which says:
"Calli, this is to inform you that two weeks from today is the start of the NFL season. The past several months, I have been an engaged, loving, helpful and thoughtful husband and father. However, I must with remiss inform you that I am putting in my two weeks notice. I will no longer be available for work on Sundays (10 A.M. to 10 P.M.), Monday evenings nor Thursday evenings due to conflicting commitments. I'll also be unavailable every Saturday due to conflicting commitments between the hours of 10 A.M. and 12 A.M. the next morning. This will be in effect until the end of February and early March. Thank you for your understanding." Wouldn't he be remiss if he didn't inform her? Either way, check it out: https://twitter.com/_mlfootball/status/1826299863778148503?s=46&t=sK4ZxpXri80bfkXt_M8Cog I've got to say, the wife in the clip took that joke really well. And she even came back with a hilarious response of her own, handing the letter back to her husband and saying:
"Sorry, you can't quit. We're short staffed." That husband better find someone to cover his shifts ASAP...
