Bear Shuffles Along On Its Hind Legs To Keep Up With Car

What would you do if a bear started doing defensive slides right by your car? It's probably not ideal when non-circus-animals do circus-animal-like tricks. This bear in Romania certainly did a commendable job "doing the bear shuffle" to keep up with a moving car, but the reason why it was likely doing so isn't all that funny. That's because a wild animal is probably only approaching a car because it connects it with getting food. There's a good chance vehicles that have come by beforehand have fed the bears, and the bruins have slowly learned that they can get an easy meal by walking around or near passing cars. Obviously, that can lead to some very dangerous interactions. There's a reason why there's a saying that states, "A fed bear is a dead bear." When a bruin gets fed human food, it starts to show up in areas where there are more humans expecting to be fed. If a fatal attack doesn't bring the bears dangerous overstepping to a stop, a close call often encourages wildlife officials to remove or relocate the human-food-seeking bruin. Though looking at this video from a more positive standpoint... I'll admit that it is comical - and one could even say adorable - to see a bear shuffle side-to-side on its hind legs. So I apologize if I took away some of the enjoyment of the clip with my "Don't Feed Bears PSA." I didn't mean to be a buzzkill. Make sure to enjoy the clip below, and how about we let the story portion be a friendly reminder that bruins are better off not being handed over human food? Even if it means we won't see as many videos like this one below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baGhNEXDOkc
