Throughout your life there's going to be songs and artists that pop up and disappear almost immediately, leaving you to wonder what happened to them if you ever remember their existence at all. Of course that's a bit dramatic and unfair to the artists but whether it's the fact that one of my all-time favorite songs is "867-5309" by the mysterious Tommy Tutone or just because I get interested in weird things, one-hit wonders have always fascinated me. The feeling of knowing who sings it when a song comes on that makes people go "I forgot about this one!" is euphoric, so I decided to round up a few country music one-hit wonders that I loved and almost forgot about. I did leave off a few ones that people most certainly have not forgotten about, like "Dust On The Bottle," "Strawberry Wine," and even Billy Ray's "Achy Breaky Heart" could probably be considered a one-hit wonder... so don't start a riot when you don't see them here. In no particular order, here's some country music one-hit wonders that you probably forgot about but still love.

    "Yes!" - Chad Brock

The former professional wrestler scored his first and only career number one with "Yes!," the title track for his 2000 album. He had another top 5 single with "Ordinary Life" but never recreated the magic or staying power of his signature song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc9LcsNDly0

"I Loved Her First" - Heartland

Best known as the father-daughter wedding dance song, this was the first track ever released by Heartland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw1ij6yo6Hs

"Who I Am" - Jessica Andrews

Jessica Andrews was just 17 when "Who I Am" was released. While she did manage to place a few more singles on the charts throughout her career, nothing hit quite like the statement of being Rosemary's granddaughter and the spitting image of my father. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd9zYKLepCw

    "Daddy's Money" - Ricochet

    "Rock On" - Tucker Beathard

I had a lot of hope for Tucker Beathard when this song came out but nothing more ever really materialized. He is a member of a ridiculously successful family though, with his father being acclaimed Nashville songwriter Casey Beathard, his brother being NFL quarterback CJ Beathard, and his grandfather Bobby Beathard being a member of the NFL Hall of Fame after a long career as general manager of the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. "Rock On" was officially removed from all platforms a few years back after a dispute with his label but there's a couple YouTube channels that posted a recording to look back on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5qmgENghfM

"Just Got Started Loving You" - James Otto

With a voice like his I can't believe James Otto never became a star. He's been radio silent since 2015 but his first and only number one is a classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCx6NnGYHh0

    "Burning House" - Cam

Another artist that I thought was going to be a sure-fire star. Cam released "Burning House" in 2015 and it racked up awards nominations and radio play like no other, but that was the peak of her solo career. More recently, she was a cowriter, producer and provided backup vocals and on Beyonce's Cowboy Carter album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyGSe76rAJc

"Don't Ask Me How I Know" - Bobby Pinson

This song is full of life lessons that we should all take to heart. "Don't Ask Me How I Know" was Bobby Pinson's debut single in 2005 and became his only top 50 hit. His biggest career success came when he began writing with Toby Keith, the two of them creating some of Toby's greatest songs, like "She Never Cried In Front Of Me" and "Made In America". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPt_Eruhf3Y

"I Don't Have To Be Me ('Til Monday") - Steve Azar

Singing this one as a kid, despite Monday only bringing school and basketball practice, sure made a boy feel like a man. Steve Azar's biggest hit "I Don't Have To Be Me" was released in October of 2001 and peaked at number two on the country charts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoirXf1i3GY

    "Smoke" - A Thousand Horses

Another staple of my high school rotation... When I first heard this song I just through it was cool, plain and simple. The duo did release a new album this year titled The Outside , which admittedly I have not listened to yet, but maybe I should considering how much I loved this one back in the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDWepmUXk3w&pp=ygUYc21va2UgYSB0aG91c2FuZCBob3JzZXMg

"Angel Eyes" - Love and Theft

Other than "Angel Eyes", the boys of Love and Theft, well at least Stephen Liles, has a claim to fame by being the person Taylor Swift's "Hey Stephen" was written about, so that's pretty cool I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKOR8TddfcM
