US Open Fan Becomes An Instant Meme When He Shows Up With A Drink For His Wife

This is just devastating. Obviously, there is much more to this story than meets the eye, but we're not gonna let something like the truth get in the way of a good meme. And it sure does look like one man had his heart broken (and his wallet emptied) by running to the concession stands to get drinks at the US Open. Usually, the heartbreak is reserved for those tennis players that are competing in the tournament hosted at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York. However, this time around, an agonizing loss was caught on camera in the stands. For some reason, the camera was on this man as he sat back down in his seat with a drink in each hand. He was clearly getting one for himself, and another for the lovely lady sitting next to him (perhaps his wife... notice the rings on both of their hands). But when he went to hand her one of the drinks, another beverage is passed down from above, and it looks like his entire universe is shattered in that very moment. There's no love present in this clip, and yes, that was my lazy attempt at a tennis pun: https://twitter.com/usopen/status/1828791790536732946 The video cuts off right when devastation hits the guy's face, so we don't know the end of the story. Most likely it was a "pass this down" situation, and the drink made it down to the other woman that was facing the man. But that look on his face is just priceless... it's straight out of an episode of
Seinfeld. If that didn't end up happening, then this clip truly is heart-wrenching, as social media so kindly pointed out in the replies:
