Looking to buy tickets to a country music concert in the near future? If so, this story could be deemed useful. I don't know about you, but I love going to Reddit for reviews and advice on certain things (big emphasis on "certain"). The site acts as a great sounding board that often gives unfiltered, non-sponsored reviews on just about anything you could think of. Including country music concerts. There's one
Reddit thread that's been firing off today about the best of the best when it comes country music concerts, and the live shows that are just so-so - according to some fans. The discussion got started with this prompt, asking: "I recently saw Zach Bryan in Tampa and was a bit disappointed. I saw Charley Crockett and Charles Wesley Godwin this year who are both awesome performers and loved their shows. George Strait puts on a great show as well. Who else do you think puts on great shows?" What a great question. And obviously that person has some good taste in country music if they are talking about going to see Charley Crockett, CWG and George Strait in the past. Apparently their anecdote was respected well enough for other country fans to flock to the Reddit board and post their own opinions of the best live shows they've attended:
"George Strait is hands down my favorite concert I’ve been to. Tyler Childers a pretty close second." "Tyler Childers sounds the closest to being in the studio that I’ve ever seen." "I’ve been to a few dozen country shows from big names in arenas to dive bars watching my favorite artist and Garth Brooks is just mind blowing and I am really not a huge fan of his music." "Billy Strings puts on the best live show of any genre, hands down." "Love or hate him, Luke Bryan puts on a great live show. Koe Wetzel sounds amazing live. Was surprised how effortless it seems for him to sing." "To me it’s pretty easily Eric Church and I’ve been to a lot of concerts." "Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers don’t really have any competition in terms of vocal talent."
"Cody Johnson! His stage presence and energy is unmatched. He sounds exactly like he does on the radio too! He really knows how to work his crowd, and his choice of openers are always fantastic too." "Whiskey Myers puts on an ELECTRIC show!! I was rocking the entire time." "Shane Smith and Saints, Mike and The Moonpies (now Silverada), 49 Winchester, and Turnpike Troubadours." "Luke Combs definitely. He’s extremely entertaining and sounds the exact same live as he does in the studio. He’s also just a great dude." "Charles Wesley Godwin and the Allegheny High put on an incredible show." Hopefully that helps you if you were looking to catch a country concert this Fall (the best time to do so in my humble opinion) and saw an artist's name on there that you like. Here's some proof:
Charles Wesley Godwin Live from Boston https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDtRPiXHNz8 Billy Strings Live in Michigan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A98OkrCx5hA Tyler Childers Live from Red Rocks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dONVNKR8yeM And just to keep things fair and honest, I have also included some of the negative comments about live shows that country fans on the Reddit board have submitted: "I was rather bored during Luke Bryan set. Lee Brice opened for him and did a much better job entertaining." "Garth does when he actually puts one on." "Saw Luke Bryan the other day and was kind of disappointed honestly. There were some songs I really liked but he just didn’t have nearly as much energy as his opener, Bailey Zimmerman."
