Gotta (Jordan) Love this. The face of the Green Bay Packers franchise (can you believe they did it again at QB?) is giving back to the state that has shown so much support for him in his early NFL career. Jordan Love is expected to have a big year on-the-field, and it appears that good play on the gridiron will directly help out with his off-the-field initiative. Jordan Love has a foundation called "Hands of 10ve" (a play on his jersey number and last name). The foundation sets out to inspire and encourage kids form all walks of life and all backgrounds to get involved in youth sports. His foundation will be working overtime this year, as he announced this week that for every touchdown the Packers score this season, Hands of 10ve will donate cleats to a Wisconsin youth sports team. All youth teams have to do is apply at the foundation's website (
handsof10ve.org ) and they'll become eligible to be randomly selected to receive Nike cleats anytime Green Bay hands a touchdown on the scoreboard. It's pretty cool to see a rising star in the NFL already be so active in giving back to his community. Love made the announcement earlier this week at Green Bay West High School, saying: "My passion for the game began at a young age, and I think all kids should be able to play sports, regardless of their background. I hope that your school applies to win cleats, and that you share this opportunity with your friends and family who are in sports too. I think all kids should be able to play sports, I’m very passionate about sports, about football. And you know, regardless of the circumstances everyone might have and things people might be going through, you never really know who needs a little more help on your team."
Love's foundation is partnering with U.S. Venture, and together they'll work to get cleats to Wisconsin youth teams of all ages and genders all across the state - as long as Green Bay puts up points. And if last year was any indication, I think they'll be getting into the end zone plenty in 2024-25.
