Is a deluxe album in the works? Earlier this summer, Megan Moroney released her sophomore album , Am I Okay? , which touched the souls of emo cowgirls (and cowboys since we don't discriminate here). Her Taylor Swift-like songwriting perfectly captured the trials and tribulations of falling in love, having to confess a boy did you wrong to your parents, thanking God for the girls in your life, and the heartbreak of losing someone you love. The record hits many of the big feelings you experience as a woman in her 20-somethings, and Moroney knocked it out of the park. But it doesn't appear that she intends to slow down since the record's release. She's been on the road non-stop with Kenny Chesney as a part of his
Sun Goes Down Tour , and today, she posted that she has also found time to get in the studio. Today, the Georgia native took to social media to share a demo of a song that appears to be a follow-up to the track "Third Time's The Charm." On Am I Okay? , "Third Time's The Charm," she tells the story of falling back in love with someone who has previously wronged her. Although she is scared that the relationship could end again, she feels like the "Third Time's The Charm," and things will play out like a fairytale this time. Well...Moroney might have been living in LaLa land with that wish because this new teaser puts a halt to that feeling. "Sooooo yeah the third time was in fact not the charm."
Get ready, folks, because this one is a doozy. I was not expecting to be shattered before 10 a.m. this morning, yet here we are. The lyrics depict an ending relationship, and Moroney feels confused about why heartbreak is being dealt her way again. She questions why he promised her the world before flipping it and making it seem she is the reason the relationship ended. "My daddy liked you, and that was a first You promised him you'd be the guy I deserve Oh, too good to be true Oh, we were wrong about you You weren't supposed to be just like the rest You swore up and down you'd love me to death Now we're in my driveway, and I'm now your ex
Because I'm way too much, and you need something less Why does this happen every time? What's wrong with me? Am I that bad?" The punchline of the lyrics is why this man had to come into her life when she was brokenhearted, pick her up, and mend it to turn around and break it again. As I said earlier, and via Moroney's caption, it feels very much like a follow-up to "Third Time's The Charm." "I could probably get back up If this goes south and I lose your love But I don't wanna know a world Where you're not mine and I'm not your girl..." The lyrics of that single, compared to the lyrics of the teaser, depict how she was scared to have the rug of love pulled out from her, and now this track shows the aftermath of her fears coming true. I hope this snippet means a few deluxe songs are coming our way and soon. For anyone who is brokenhearted, grab the tissues before firing this one up. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_fsXzcp1J8/
