Running it back. Riley Green and Ella Langley have done it again. Today, the lead single off Green's newly announced project, Don't Mind If I Do , he is re-teaming up with a fellow Alabama native for another stellar duet. https://twitter.com/RileyGreenMusic/status/1831907354742493540 As Langley has been a supporting act for Riley Green on tour, the duo has had a chance to play their hit song "You Look Like You Love Me" many times before their audiences. Because fans love their voices together, they team up again for another duet posing as a male and female point of view on "Don't Mind If I Do,"
debuting it in front of a crowd the other week. The two took the song to the stage before Green announced his forthcoming record, and fans instantly requested that the single be dropped after they performed the acoustic ditty. Shortly after Don't Mind If I Do was announced, Green shared that the beloved duet would be the lead track off the record. This is a strong start out of the gate for Green and what's in store for this record. He and Langley go back and forth, singing the brokenhearted lyrics of a couple who chose to end their relationship, but both parties silently wish they get back together one day. Drunk nights lead to appearances at one another's homes, falling back into their old habits.
"And I don't mind if I do Drink up the nerve to show up at your house If you wanna know the truth, it’s killin' me not holdin' you right now I'm one memory away from fallin' all the way apart 'Cause I might still love you Hope you don’t mind if I do..." The heavy acoustic melody captures the melancholy ache of the narrator's heart. Green's deep and smooth vocals cut deep as he conveys the hurt of a broken man in his lyric delivery. Langley enters the chat during the second verse to assist with harmonies and then takes over the narrator's perspective in the third verse. She sings that she feels the same way as the man and hopes they find their way back into each other's arms. The song is much softer than "You Look Like You Love Me," but it hits just as hard, if not harder. Riley Green and Ella Langley have struck gold once again, and this duet is quickly becoming a powerhouse combo. Could they be the next Robert Plant and Alison Krauss? I hope so because I can't get enough of their music when collaborating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWH_oRBvgX4
