They say (alleged) cheaters never prosper - with the apparent exception of Connor Stalions
. Despite plenty of news coverage on the Michigan Wolverines sign-stealing-scandal, as well as a recent documentary on Netflix titled Sign Stealer , the Connor Stalions story continues to roll on. And against all odds, he seems to be doing really, really well. The former Michigan football staffer left the Wolverines after all of the uproar and backlash and took a job as a defensive coordinator at Detroit Mumford High School. Like how Jim Harbaugh somewhat wiped his hands clean of the scandal and left for greener pastures, Stalions took the job to get out of the high profile investigation that surrounded Michigan. And just like that, Stalions has now been promoted to head coach of the Detroit area high school. Now the circumstances for his promotion aren't all that great. It's being reported that the acting head coach, William McMichael, suffered a stroke at the end of August. That medical issue forced him to step aside as the acting head coach, and somehow, Stalions was the next man up and was given the job. Funny enough, one of the main points from Stalions in the Netflix documentary was that he's always wanted to be a head coach. Obviously how he was thrust into the HC role isn't ideal, but he's already being trusted to run a team after he ran away from his problems and responsibilities at Michigan after he and the Wolverines' sign-stealing was exposed. https://twitter.com/bmarcello/status/1832041399719485523 Just think about it... the guy who was at the center of the sign stealing investigation probably went from, "Will I ever work in football again?" to "I'm the head coach of a high school football team" in a matter of months. It's an insane turn of events for Stalions, but I guess it's somewhat of a fresh start for the aspiring head coach.
