Sunset Park playground equipment repair
Repairs coming to the Sunset Park playground rope climber. During their regular playground inspections, City Parks staff found significant damage to two sections of the Sunset Park playground rope climber equipment. To keep everyone safe we removed the damaged sections until we can get replacements from the equipment manufacturer. We estimate this could take up to a month.

City of Edmonds Director of Public Works Oscar Antillon has resigned his role with the City of Edmonds effective immediately, the city announced Monday. Antillion stated a desire to be able to focus on spending more time with his family as a main reason for his decision to resign, the city said.
Port of Everett delivers expansion pitch, Eagle Scouts honored during July 11 city council meeting
The Mountlake Terrace City Council received a presentation on the Port of Everett expansion from Port Government Affairs Manager Adam LeMieux during its July 11 meeting. Resolution 1220 proposes new boundaries that would include all of Snohomish County, except for the City of Edmonds, Port of Edmonds, Town of Woodway, Point Wells and Esperance. The resulting taxes would be $0.188 per $1,000, which LeMieux said was about $100 per year on a $500,000 property value and is not collected from tribal trust lands.

The Mountlake Terrace City Council cut the ribbon on July 11 for the much-anticipated revamped 66th Avenue West. The street’s travelers experienced occasional traffic shutdowns from February to May as the city replaced the pavement. The most time-consuming work was completed months ahead of schedule due to good planning and weather.
Federal Way woman accused of driving high in fatal crash
A driver who was allegedly high on marijuana behind the wheel has been accused of causing the death of one man and seriously injuring multiple others. Wendy Cisneros, 22, whose last known address was in Federal Way, has been charged with vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular assault, and reckless driving following a fatal collision June 21 in SeaTac.

Kent Police seek public’s help to find woman missing since 2009
Kent Police released a sketch of what Alyssa McLemore might look like now in an effort to find the Kent woman missing since 2009. McLemore was 21 when she disappeared over 15 years ago on April 9, 2009. She was 5 feet 3 inches tall and about 130 pounds at the time she disappeared. Her hair is naturally black but she was known to sometimes bleach her hair, according to Kent Police. She had a 3-year-old child when she disappeared.
4 hospitalized after suspected drunk driver causes crash on Highway 106
Three members of a Federal Way family were sent to the hospital on Sunday night after a collision with a drunk driver along the south shore of Hood Canal. The family was driving east on Highway 106 south of Belfair with two adults, a 10-year-old, 16-year-old and 18-year-old in the car, when a 2021 Mazda CX 30 driving the opposite direction crossed over the center line and struck their 2014 Lexus GX460 near milepost 13 at 7:26 p.m., reported the Washington State Patrol. Both cars were totaled and came to rest in the middle of the road.
