Marietta Man Accused of Child Molestation
David F. Delgado, 40, of Marietta, is accused of multiple molestation charges, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Delgado is accused of molesting a 6-8 year old girl between Jan. 1, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2018 at a Marietta apartment. He is accused of molesting an 8-10 year old girl, a 9-11 year old boy and an 8-10 year old boy between Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2019 at the same location. ...
Canton Man to Serve 17 Years in Prison for Abusing 3 Year Old
A Canton man will serve 17 years in prison after he was convicted of abusing a 3-year-old child, the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced. On Oct. 16, Superior Court Judge Tony Baker sentenced Tyler James Esponge, 38, to serve 17 years in prison for cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated battery, and battery. Esponge was convicted of these charges by a Cherokee County jury Aug. 15. ...
Alleged Rape Fugitive Caught in Cobb County
Jose David Hernandez-Morales, 20, of Marietta, is accused of being a fugitive from rape – strongarm charges by the Baltimore County in the State of Maryland. He was located in Cobb County on Sept. 20 at 10:48 p.m. at the intersection of Discovery Boulevard and Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Hernandez-Morales is charged with fugitive. He was arrested on Sept. 20 at 3:14 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. Hernandez-Morales remains in custody without bond. The State of Maryland has advised intentions to extradite.
Austell Man Accused of Attempted Rape at Senior Living Community
Dexter Darrell Tolliver, 55, of Austell, is accused of attempting to rape a woman on Oct. 7 at 11:09 p.m. at an apartment at 2780 Bankstone Drive in Marietta, in the Ashton Arbors Apartments senior living community, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Tolliver is charged with rape – attempt to rape; aggravated sexual battery – aggravated; exploit a disabled or elderly person or healthcare shelter; and simple battery harm. He was arrested on Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. Tolliver remains in custody without bond.
Cherokee Clerk of Courts Announces New Requirements for Notaries
Notary requirements in Georgia are changing starting Jan. 1 due to a new state law, and the Cherokee County Clerk of Courts will soon offer training to help notaries comply with the changes. Motorcyclist Killed in Cobb Parkway Crash
A Bartow County man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Cobb Parkway in Acworth Monday afternoon, Cobb Police report. Reno Gage Bilaki, 25, of White, was traveling south on Cobb Parkway near Lake Acworth Drive on a Kawasaki motorcycle, according to police. A Toyota Rav 4 driven by Lionel Newman, 74, of Acworth, was driving in the same direction. At approximately 2:42 p.m., police say both vehicles attempted a lane change, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with the rear of the Rav 4. Newman was not injured in the crash, but Bilaki was taken to Kennestone Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The collision is under investigation by both Acworth and Cobb County Police. Marietta Man Accused of Ramming a Vehicle in DUI Road Rage Incident
Michael Kelton Duncan, 65, of Marietta, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a wreck during a road rage incident on Oct. 20 at 6:52 p.m. at Chastain Road and I-575 South in Kennesaw, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Abbey Leigh Garland, 22, of Kennesaw, is accused of biting an officer on the shin of his left leg, breaking the skin and drawing blood, while resisting attempts to arrest her on Oct. 20 at 11:10 p.m. at an apartment at 1750 Shiloh Road NW in Kennesaw, within the MAA Shiloh Apartments. Police Close Part of Powers Ferry Road to Investigate Wreck
MARIETTA — Wednesday evening, Cobb police closed a segment of Powers Ferry Road by the Augusta Commons apartment complex, along with the sidewalk, as they investigate a wreck that left one car in a ditch. Officers on site declined to say more, except to call it a crime scene. In response to a request for comment, Officer S.A. Barner, spokesperson for the Cobb Police Department, said, "Our STEP unit has been activated to investigate a serious collision in the area. Smyrna Man Accused of Check Fraud
Isaac Nyameke Amihere, 24, of Smyrna, is accused of depositing a $35,884.37 check, altered to include his name as the payee rather than the true payee – Atlanta HydroVac, into his PNC Bank account on May 28 at 9 a.m. at the Highlands Park PNC Bank Branch, 4500 S. Cobb Drive SE in Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Amihere is charged with check fraud. He was arrested on Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. Amihere remains in custody, without bond.
