Woman arrested after allegedly trying to cash forged check in Whitehouse, leading officials on pursuit

WHITEHOUSE, Texas ( KETK ) – The Whitehouse Police Department said that a woman was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly led officials on a pursuit to Tyler after trying to cash a forged check at a bank.
According to Whitehouse PD, they got a report from Southside Bank at Lily Road and State Highway 110 that someone was in their drive thru trying to cash a forged check with a stolen ID around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.
A Whitehouse PD officer responded to the scene and pulled over a vehicle leaving the bank in the 700 block of Lily Road. When the officer got out of their vehicle the driver they had pulled over reportedly took off south on 110.
Two blocks south on 110, the driver reportedly turned around and headed towards Tyler with the Whitehouse PD officer and a Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputy in pursuit. The pursuit continued until the Whitehouse PD officer was called off and then the Smith County deputy arrested the driver on State Highway 64 near Chapel Hill.
Tasha Hudson, 35, was arrested for evading arrest with a vehicle, possesion of a controlled substance less than one gram, possesion of marijuana less than 2 ounces, forgery of a financial instrument for between $2,500 and $30,000 and fraudulent use/possesion of identifying information.
She’s being held in the Smith County Jail for a total $65,500 bond.
