The search for Charles Powell, an 8-year-old boy who was reported missing in Indianapolis, ended in relief as authorities located him safe. INDIANAPOLIS — A Hamilton County jury found an Indianapolis man guilty Friday for selling a fentanyl-laced substance to a 23-year-old man, resulting in his death. Benjamine Ingram was convicted of selling a counterfeit substance, that was believed to be Xanax, to Jacob Lampe. The substance Ingram sold was laced with fentanyl and resulted in Lampe's death in July 2022.
No injuries after multiple boats overturned at Geist
No one was reported injured after multiple sailboats overturned on Geist Reservoir July 14 during a sudden storm that included strong winds, rain, thunder and lightning. According to the Fishers Fire Department, first responder boats 392, 391 and 391B, with assistance from the Department of Natural Resources and Indianapolis Fire Department, conducted search and rescue operations at the reservoir, making multiple surface rescues.

MARION, Indiana — An Indianapolis man was critically injured after shots were fired into their car in Marion early Monday, police said. Around 4 a.m. July 15, a Marion Police Department sergeant on patrol heard apparent gunshots in the area of South Home Avenue and East 27th Street. The sergeant then saw a male fire shots before running in a home in the 900 block of East 27th Street, the department said in a statement.
