MVHS welcomes new general surgeon
UTICA — Dr. Jacob Miguel has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System Surgical Group as a general surgeon. Miguel earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, where he also completed the Academic Medicine Scholars Program and earned a master’s degree in neuromusculoskeletal sciences.

Syracuse’s highest-volume ER looks to grow even more with new $1 million entry area
Syracuse, NY -- Crouse Hospital unveiled a new walk-in entrance Friday that it hopes will improve safety and efficiency at the city’s highest-volume emergency room. The improvements will allow Crouse to see roughly 6,000 more patients a year, a 10% increase, without sacrificing quality, estimated CEO Dr. Seth Kronenberg.
