Wild Zone journey sends Braves to title and State bid
It took the Hiawatha Post 66 Braves five games to get through the Zone 3 Tournament this week, including three against the team’s biggest rival, Corning, but get through it the Braves did, capturing first a spot in the State Tournament, then some revenge and the Zone Championship after upsetting Corning in the tournament finale.
Post 66 Juniors win one game at State
A perfect regular season and an undefeated trip through the Zone Tournament took the Hiawatha Post 66 Junior Legion Braves to this week’s State Tournament in Topeka. The Braves opened up tournament play looking hot as they have all season, pushing their season mark to 17-0, but ran into a pair of tough opponents in their two Saturday games, ending an exciting and encouraging season.
