    Judge denies Youthful Offender Status for man charged in deadly Five Points shooting

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Court documents show the man charged in a 2022 deadly shooting in Five Points has been denied youthful offender status.

    Jerry Ingram, 20, is charged with murder for the shooting death of 18-year-old Jaylen Hill, according to the Huntsville Police Department (HPD).

    A Madison County Circuit Court Judge denied Ingram’s motion for Youthful Offender Status on Friday morning. His case is now set for trial on October 21, with an arraignment set for August 21.

    Huntsville Police officers responded to a shots fired call around 11:20 p.m. on September 2, 2022, in the Five Points neighborhood. When officers got to the scene, they found Hill was shot.

    HPD said Hill was pronounced dead at the scene .

    At the time of the shooting, HPD Investigators said they believed Ingram and Hill were visiting a friend when the incident occurred.

    Court records show Ingram is out on bond.
