HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — With the growth of Huntsville comes many new places to eat, and if there is a spot you’ve been looking to try out, now is the time.

“Restaurant week is a great time to either experience a brand new restaurant you haven’t been to, or go back to that restaurant that maybe deserves that second chance,” said Stephanie Kennedy-Mell.

This week is the city’s 12th annual restaurant week, meaning places across the city are partnering up to offer their best menu at discounted prices.

“We get that customer who maybe is looking for that opportunity to come out and try something,” Kennedy-Mell said. “There’s those people who think ‘oh my gosh, restaurant week…I’m going to be able to try something, and it’s at a great price…’ and then we get to wow them.”

Kennedy-Mell is a co-owner of Church Street Hospitality and Restaurants, and from the owner’s perspective, she has some advice:

“Go revisit that restaurant that maybe you didn’t have the best experience at and go back this week,” she said. “Check it out. try it. Give them a second chance.”

Kennedy-Mell said that a second chance could mean all the difference.

“Small businesses sometimes I think, don’t get that second chance, and it’s worth it,” she said. “These people are putting their heart and soul into these businesses.”

Jennifer Moore is the CEO of the Huntsville-Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and says they look forward to this week as a chance to show off the city and all the great food it has to offer.

“There’s over 77 restaurants that are participating in restaurant week, and no matter what kind of food you like, there should be an option for everyone,” Moore said.

This week offers as a great chance to add to your plate and widen your palate.
