    Decatur police arrest man on 3 counts of identity theft

    DECATUR, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Decatur Police Department arrested a man for identity theft during an investigation in July and August.

    DPD said multiple people reported stolen credit and debit cards were used as well as unauthorized transactions at businesses in July and August.

    Man arrested in arson investigation at Huntsville apartment complex

    During the investigation, Frederick Levon Burkfield was named the suspect.

    On August 24, Burkfield was arrested in Huntsville and transported to Decatur. He was charged with three counts of identity theft and seven counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.

    He was booked into the Morgan County Jail with a $40,000 bond.
