    Body found in Des Moines River near Pleasant Hill boat ramp

    PLEASANT HILL, Iowa — A body was found in the Des Moines River near a boat ramp in Pleasant Hill Thursday evening.

    Lorimor man charged with attempted murder in Creston shooting

    At about 7:15 p.m. the Pleasant Hill Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a body in the river near the SE Vandalia Drive boat ramp. According to Pleasant Hill Fire Chief Jamie Xayavong, individuals who were fishing in the area saw what appeared to be a body and called 911.

    When first responders arrived on scene they confirmed there was a body in the river and within 15 minutes were able to remove it from the water, Chief Xayavong said.

    No other information has been released.
