Forecast: Only Tiny Rain Chances This Week

We’re warming up a bit more than Saturday today as this gorgeous August weekend continues and brings the Iowa State Fair to a close. This summer is flying by.

As the following pair of images show, only tiny light rain chances are ahead this week. We’ll see isolated showers Tuesday afternoon in western Iowa, and a few more isolated showers Friday morning.

Expect a mostly-dry week. Both the Weather Prediction Center ‘s 7-day rainfall outlook and the European computer model’s precipitation forecast below paint a relatively rain-free picture.

Severe weather also looks highly unlikely through Sunday at this point, as Colorado State’s severe weather algorithm output below shows.

Dewpoints haven’t been too high this weekend, but that will change by next weekend as heat and humidity build into Iowa.
