    Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Merle Hay Mall

    DES MOINES, Iowa — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near Merle Hay Mall Friday afternoon.

    At around 3 p.m. the Des Moines Police Department and Fire Department responded to a report of a car vs. motorcycle crash at the intersection of 57th Street and Douglas Avenue. According to Sgt. Parizek with DMPD, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Douglas Avenue when a Jeep, traveling eastbound on Douglas Avenue, turned left in front of the motorcyclist onto 57th Street.

    Pleasant Hill police request help identifying man found in Des Moines River

    Parizek said the motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash, but is in stable condition.

    An investigation into the crash is ongoing and more information will be released when made available.
