AMES, Iowa — Saturday, Iowa State faces off against North Dakota in ISU’s first home game of the season. It is also the first game of the 50th Anniversary of Jack Trice Stadium.

At every game this season Iowa State will play clips of historic moments in the stadium’s history, starting with this Saturday’s game.

Nick Joos, the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Iowa State, said the 50th anniversary is a good time for fans to look back.

“It’s a great opportunity for fans to come together and to recall some of the great moments that they may have been in the stadium for,” Joos said, “whether it was beating Oklahoma State when they were amongst the national leaders or going even back into the 70’s when they beat Nebraska in back to back years.”

The stadium has a new sound system this year. Also new this year, is the parking by the CYTown development which finished just in time for Saturday’s home game.

Joos said that the continuous improvements to Jack Trice Stadium give it staying power for another 50 years.

“This is a beautiful stadium. There’s been a lot of great investments that have been made into the stadium over the years and we continue to maintain it at a high level and there’s no reason that it can’t last another 50 seasons if not longer,” Joos said.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. If you can’t make it to the stadium, you can watch on TV on FS1.
