Forecast: Heat builds, rain chances scarce

We warmed up a bit more than Saturday today under sunny, sometimes smoky, skies. We’ll keep adding to the heat through midweek.

We won’t see dewpoints rise much until the weekend. So, expect sunny and dry conditions.

Lows tonight will not be as cold as last night, with some 40s and 50s expected across Iowa.

As the images below demonstrate, both rain chances and severe chances will be slim through Sunday. It appears we’ll see a tropical system make its way onshore along the Gulf Coast sometime around Wednesday and make its way northeast. Tiny bits of the associated rain MIGHT make it into parts of Iowa Saturday.
