18-Year-Old Dead After Being Shot Inside Home on Southeast Side

INDIANAPOLIS — According to IMPD, they found 18-year-old Gabriel Pedraza dead inside of a home on the southeast side early Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Nelson Avenue. That’s just east of I-65. around 12:30 a.m. after someone made an incomplete 911 call.

When IMPD arrived they spoke with a woman who said she believed someone had been shot in the house across the street. Police would find Pedraza suffering from a gunshot wound. He was initially reported to be in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.

A gun was found inside of the home, but police did not say if it was the one used in the shooting. The Marion County Coroner’s Office was responsible for identifying the body.
