SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. — More than a decade after a man was killed in Sullivan County, police have arrested a second person for his role in the crime.

State Police say Lowell Badger was killed in early December 2012. The 85-year-old retired farmer had been shot at his rural home, from which items like a safe and a television had also been stolen.

Now, 39-year-old Richard Taft has been arrested and is facing charges for murder and burglary resulting in bodily injury. Online court records indicate that Taft’s criminal record dates back to at least 1999.

At the time of this arrest, Taft was already being held at the Michigan City Correctional Facility.

William Grimes was indicted for crimes including murder and burglary earlier this year. At that time, he was already imprisoned in the Miami Correctional Facility.
