An online public meeting is being conducted for the 2025-2028 Rural Transportation Improvement Program through the Texas Department of Transportation. The Rural TIP includes projects funded by the Wichita Falls District, including those in Young County.

The meeting is available online through Tuesday, May 28 on the TxDOT website at txdot.gov/projects/hearings-meetings.html . The meeting consists of a pre-recorded video presentation with audio and visual presentations regarding projects in the district.

The purpose of the meeting is to collect public comments on transportation projects in the Wichita Falls District, which includes Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cooke, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young counties.

Comments on the public hearing can be made by next Tuesday to TxDOT Wichita Falls District, Attn: Rural TIP; 1601 Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302, or by email to Kyle.Poirot@txdot.gov, Attention: Rural TIP.

In the Rural TIP for 2025-2028, Young County has nine pavement repair and overlay projects scheduled, with four in 2025 and five in 2027.

The four 2025 projects will be on U.S. 380 from Hwy. 16 S to FM 2179, U.S. 380 from Weaver Lane to Throckmorton CL, FM 61 from FM 3003 to FM 67 and Hwy. 16 S from Graham’s southern city limits to Palo Pinto CL.

The five 2027 projects will be on Hwy. 114 from FM 2178 N to Ave. C in Olney, Hwy. 67 from U.S. 380 to Stephens CL, FM 926 near Peveler Creek to U.S. 380, FM 210 from State Highway Loop 132 to Hwy. 79 and State Highway Loop 132 from Hwy. 114 to Hwy. 79.

The Rural TIP serves as a step for TxDOT to produce the State Transportation Improvement Program, which incorporates both metropolitan and rural area transportation improvement programs.
