WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Thanks to the nurses who nursed her back to walking and talking, Twyla Whitaker said her determination got her where she is today.

“Just dedication and strive and the sleepless nights,” Whitaker, owner of Essentials IV Hydration, said.

It’s an overwhelming and exciting feeling for Whitaker.

“Anything is really good with support,” Whitaker said.

Since recovering from a life-changing wreck in 1998, Whitaker became a nurse.

Over the course of her 14-year career, she learned the ins and outs of the profession. She’s noticed two common things: people want to be hydrated or relieve their pain.

“I’m just providing more of a convenient service to them. It’s really not really much of a wait time. I go to pop-up areas, also do mobile to their place to just make it more convenient for them,” Whitaker said.

Striving to bring the best service to patients and educate them beyond the IV drip.

“I want them to feel comfortable and talk to me and tell me any problem that they’re having. Medical problem lives while they’re getting an infusion. And I will try my best to enlighten them or educate them,” Whitaker said.

After years of fighting to walk and talk again, Whitaker never thought she’d be a business owner.

“I still have my own battles from that, but it’s not [stopping] me. I’m determined. So I don’t let it stop me. I keep going. As long as I keep God first, it’s possible. Anything’s possible,” Whitaker said.

Whitaker aims to help you stay hydrated well beyond summer and keep those minor aches and pains at bay.
