At Tuesday's Wichita City council workshop, the council learned more about the city's Outsourced Pavement Preservation Program, or OP3 for short.

The city says your street is assessed at least once every 18-24 months. The condition is fed into the city's Street Preservation Decision Support Tool which helps determine that if repairs are needed, what is the best one to keep the roadway in satisfactory condition.

Council member Becky Tuttle said street repairs aren't done without some thought.

The city has budgeted around $13 million for OP3 in 2024, with $1.5 million designated to pave a portion of dirt streets. Here's an interactive map from the city detailing the work scheduled this year.
