The Kansas Department of Transportation will be closing the right and center lanes of northbound I-135 from 2nd Street to 8th Street in Wichita starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28. The lane closures are necessary for a patching project that will occur until 5 a.m. Monday, at which time the center lane will reopen to commuters.

During construction, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 mph in the work zone. Dondlinger and Sons Construction, of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the $1.7 million project.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to kandrive.gov or call 511.
