Update: Victim identified in east Wichita fatal shooting, 2 men arrested

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The victim in Monday morning’s fatal shooting in east Wichita has been identified by the Wichita Police Department as 25-year-old Sebastian Crawford of Wichita.

The WPD says they have arrested a 22-year-old man from Wichita on suspicion of second-degree reckless murder and a 50-year-old man from Wichita on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the WPD, first responders responded at 11:08 a.m. to the report of a shooting at Rockborough Apartments in the 200 block of N. Rock Road.

Crawford was found with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The WPD says multiple people, including two juveniles, were inside the apartment. A woman was transported to an area hospital to be evaluated for a condition unrelated to the shooting. No other injuries have been reported.

An investigation revealed that Crawford and the suspect may have known each other and were in an argument ahead of the shooting.

This is the 18th criminal homicide in 2024, according to the WPD.
