A cool front is moving through the northwest part of the state and will keep conditions unsettled this afternoon and tonight as it continues southeast.

Another Heat Advisory will be in effect this afternoon and evening due to a dangerous combination of high heat and humidity. Temperatures will reach triple digits in much of central and eastern Kansas with humidity levels on the high side.

Areas farther northwest will be able to tap into some relief as the front moves in. Highs in the 80s in Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska will be pleasant compared to the rest of the area.

We will be back to being weather aware later this afternoon and evening. Strong to severe storms will be possible again.

They will be spotty after 4pm and stretch from Southwest to Northeast Kansas.

The severe threat should wrap up as we head into the overnight but it will not be completely dry.

The front will keep diving south into Wednesday and the rest of the area will be able to partake in some relief from the high heat. Temperatures that follow will be between the 90s and the 80s.

Showers and storms will be around into Wednesday but should remain below severe thresholds.

Another severe risk develops late in the day. All forms of severe weather will be possible with the greatest risk being to the northwest.

New storms will begin to fire up later in the afternoon and evening. These will swing through the area into the overnight and by the time many of us kick start the 4th of July skies will be drier.

Western Kansas will be in the clear when it comes to Thursday evening celebrating. However, areas farther east will need to be weather aware again with a chance for strong evening storms to disrupt fireworks displays.

So far, conditions are not looking as active over the weekend with storm chances at their lowest.
