WICHITA Kan. (KSNW) — A ‘womb wellness’ event was held at the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University on Saturday.

This was the third year in a row for the event, and was for women of all ages. Health professionals and different vendors were on hand selling prenatal products.

The organizer of the event said this is a safe place for women to come and have open dialogue about health concerns that many women deal with.

“Get everyone together in the safe space,” Shaunita Phillips said. “It’s something that’s needed culturally and generationally. We don’t sit around and have these conversations, and so a lot of women are suffering in silence. I want to break that silence”

Phillips said the event is also beneficial for men to attend, to help them better understand how to support their significant other.
