WSU men’s, women’s basketball learn conference opponents

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Both the men’s and women’s Wichita State University basketball teams learned their conference opponents for the 2024-2025 season on Thursday.

The women’s schedule features nine home opponents and seven road opponents. The Shockers will have home-and-away games with six conference teams, playing both at Koch Arena and on the road against North Texas, Tulane, Alabama-Birmingham, Texas-San Antonio, Charlotte, and Tulsa.

The Shockers women will host Florida Atlantic, Rice and South Florida and will travel to Memphis, Temple, and East Carolina.

The men’s team has a similar setup, but it has nine home opponents and nine road opponents. There are three home-only opponents and three away-only opponents.

The Shockers men will not visit UAB, East Carolina or Tulane this season, while Florida Atlantic, Rice and Temple miss out on a trip to the Roundhouse.

No dates for the men’s or women’s games have been announced yet. The men’s team’s first conference play dates will be Dec. 31, 2024, and will run through March 9.
