WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Basketball Tournament — a winner-take-all $1 million prize, 64-team tournament — is back in Wichita.

The Wichita region is being held at Charles Koch Arena, and featured three Kansas teams: the AfterShocks (Wichita State alumni), Purple Reign (Kansas State alumni) and Mass Street (Kansas alumni).

Wichita has played host to the tournament for the last four years, and fans are excited about its return in 2024.

“What appeals to me about the TBT is just seeing these guys giving back to the schools, giving back to the community,” Clent Stewart, a fan of Purple Reign, said. “Seeing them come together as alumni, alumni teams to give back to the community.”

This is the fifth year the TBT has had a regional in Wichita. The AfterShocks moved on to the second round on Monday, and will face Team Colorado, who defeated Purple Reign Saturday. Mass Street is slated to play against Ram Up Saturday night.
