    Child care summit in Wichita to focus on strengthening workforce

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — This weekend, a summit focusing on child care will happen in Wichita. The ICT Child Care Entrepreneurs Summit will provide an opportunity for businesses and family providers to discuss the role of child care in strengthening the local workforce.

    The summit will be on Saturday at the Beggs Ballroom, Wichita State Rhatigan Student Center. A family provider event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and an event for the business community will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

    For businesses, the summit will focus on the importance of child care for recruiting and retaining workers. Child care providers will be introduced to free resources, including data-gathering tools, funding opportunities, and business development.

    Participants will:

    • Explore the latest trends and solutions in child care.
    • Engage with child care providers to discuss potential collaborations.
    • Discover the benefits of investing in child care for a workforce.
    • Network with other business leaders who share a commitment to supporting their employees’ needs.

    The summit is made possible by a grant from the National League of Cities ( NLC) City Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE) program and is organized in partnership with the City of Wichita, Child Start, Greater Wichita Partnership, Wichita State’s Public Policy and Management Center, and Workforce Alliance of South-Central Kansas.
