WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted a white coat ceremony for incoming students on Saturday.

The ceremony was for almost 200 students who took the osteopathic oath before the school year starts this coming Monday.

Despite health complications, Marine Corps veteran wouldn’t give up his time in service

For many of the students, this is a way for them to give back to their community.

“Right now, my plan is to just stay around the area and hopefully, when I finish residency or something, I can give back to my community here and be a doctor and help others,” Destinee O’Shae, a white coat recipient, said.

This year’s class is the third for KansasCOM.
