Church food pantry trying to build new distribution building
HOXIE, Ark. (KAIT) - The food pantry at First Baptist Church in Hoxie is in desperate need of a new distribution building. The food pantry has been going on for many years and has grown significantly. In the last few years it has gone from serving about 120 families to about 250 to 300, and in some instances, nearly 500 families.

Gov. Mike Parson of Missouri recently signed legislation banning industrial food waste from Arkansas food processing plants. Waste from Arkansas can include offal, blood and grease, an estimated at 200,000 tons per year, being spread as fertilizer on pastures and farms in Missouri.
