Sinkhole in Wildwood, Traffic Detours Thursday Afternoon
A significant traffic problem in Wildwood Thursday. A sinkhole has developed at the intersection of Rio Grande and Ocean avenues in the city. Police have diverted northbound traffic on Ocean Avenue in the city until the problem is repaired.

New irrigation regulations in Avalon are working. Avalon announced at Wednesday’s council meeting that water use decreased by more than five million gallons during the month of May, and greater reductions are expected in June. Tax incentive program rehabs coastal city of Wildwood, New Jersey
In March 2022, the city of Wildwood, N.J.’s, Board of Commissioners voted to continue a popular tax incentive program designed to encourage development and home improvements throughout the coastal community. It is a program that began in 2015 and has increased property values and revitalized blighted areas of the city with newer housing and commercial projects including hotels, restaurants and retail stores.

The Board of Commissioners Thursday, June 27 rejected the single bid it received from a contractor to build a new band shell because the number was way above what the city is prepared to pay.
