Disappointing decline in the special things in The Villages
Re-opening the theater would be a wise move. Entertainment at the square is so popular most days you can’t find a parking place. Hollywood isn’t making many new blockbuster movies to speak of but people in The Villages love to watch old movies, too! The people from the Sawgrass area come to Brownwood for entertainment because their area is too small and has poor choices for parking. They will not drive to Lake Sumter Landing to go to a movie, but they will gladly come to Brownwood.

There will be running displays of almost every gauge, or size, of trains, including Lionel, American Flyer, Bachmann, Marklin, LGB and many others.
Bird Island, a 50-acre off-the-grid island in Central Florida, slashes asking price by nearly $5 million
A giant, secluded inland Florida island just got a little cheaper, so to speak. Accessible only by boat or seaplane, Bird Island, located at 6001 Bird Island Dr., is a 51-acre remote island in the middle of Lake Griffin, which is is part of the Harris Chain of Lakes, just outside of The Villages.
Villagers argue population growth requires reopening of theater
Wanda Tiltges of the Village of Fenney cannot believe that The Villages has ignored the voices of thousands of residents calling for the reopening of the Barnstorm Theater. “As a newer resident of The Villages I was surprised and disappointed to learn that The Villages’ ownership has pushed back and not responded to requests to reopen the movie theater in Brownwood,” Tiltges said. “To simply ignore over 3,500 people isn’t representative of the culture you strive for … the friendliest place to live.”
