WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police charged a woman after they said she fought with officers during an arrest for retail theft at Boscov’s.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, on Saturday around 5:45 p.m., officers were called for a report of several people stealing items from Boscovs and hiding them in a black Nike drawstring bag.

Police say they pulled over the suspect car and found stolen merchandise, including a bracelet, a necklace, and a watch.

The six people in the car were ordered out of the vehicle and one of them Megan Taylor, 24, of Berwick gave officers a fake name, as stated in the affidavit.

When officers discovered Taylor’s real name, she tried to run away but they stopped her and she hit one of them in the face and tried to grab for the officer’s Taser, according to court documents.

Once Taylor was arrested she continued to resist while being placed into the back seat of the police cruiser, officers stated.

Taylor was charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, false identification to law enforcement, and disorderly conduct. She was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $7,500 bail.
