In His Name-Colleton held its quarterly community meeting on July 22nd. Amanda Herndon, Director of In His Name-Colleton, presented the impact report for the first half of 2024. The program has assisted 319 individuals, served 3000 meals and provided housing for 10 men and 4 females in their transitional housing program. Herndon stated that the program is on track to double the impact from last year.

Dominion Energy is encouraging customers who may be struggling financially to reach out for energy assistance this summer. August is Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Action Month. A federally funded program, LIHEAP provides qualifying customers with bill payment and energy assistance options. In 2023, more than 71,000 Dominion Energy customers received approximately $23 million in energy assistance through LIHEAP and other agency utility bill assistance programs.
