Days-old infant, toddlers found near narcotics during traffic stop
HERRIN, Ill. (WJPF) – Police say three children, including a 13-day-old infant, were passengers in the same car in which narcotics were found. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says Kortrell Johnson, 26, was initially pulled over June 20 for a traffic violation. Three kids, ages 3 years, 2 years, and 13 days were found in the backseat. One of the children, police say, was sitting just inches away from two hypodermic syringes, concealed inside of a diaper. Unsealsed bags of cannabis, a single bag of 5 alprazolam (Xanax) pills, and a white powder that tested positive for meth were also found in the same car as the kids and police say a strong smell of cannabis was coming from the car.

Suspicious vehicle at self-storage facility leads to drug arrest
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A man was arrested for multiple drug-related charges after deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle at a self-storage facility. According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies saw a suspicious vehicle at a closed self-storage facility on W. Main Street in Marion, Illinois just after midnight on Monday, June 17. After they pulled in to investigate, the driver told the deputies that he was dropping off items to store at the facility.
Traffic stop leads to man’s arrest for sex offender registry violation
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A traffic stop last Tuesday led to the arrest of a man who was non-compliant with his required sex offender registration. According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were patrolling the area of Illinois Route 13 and Shawnee Trail near Carterville at around 10:40 p.m. on June 18 when they saw a vehicle commit a violation.
