    Crosscutters use big innings to put away Scrappers

    NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – The Williamsport Crosscutters took down the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 12-4, at Eastwood Field on Saturday night in a MLB Draft League matchup.

    After tying up the game at 2-2 after two innings, the Crosscutters responded with four runs in the Top of the third to take a 6-2 lead. Williamsport added six more runs in the final four innings.

    For the Scrappers, Beau Ankeney went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, his third of the season.

    Mahoning Valley falls to 13-15 on the season and will host Williamsport again on Sunday, with a first pitch scheduled for 2:05 p.m. at Eastwood Field.
