(WHTM) — Where’s the beef? Well, two women who worked for a Pennsylvania Arby’s may know after State Police alleged they stole thousands of dollars worth of beef from the restaurant.

According to court documents, Stephanie Davis, 63, and Shaniyah West, 21, both of Williamsport, allegedly worked together to steal the food and other items from a Lycoming County Arby’s over the course of two months.

In total, the duo allegedly stole $3,495.37 worth of items while they worked at the fast-food restaurant. Below is the list of items and the monetary worth that the duo stole, according to the court documents:

    • 56 “units” of beef – $2,800
    • 143 drinks – $370.37
    • 16 fried food items – $80.49
    • “Other” items – $245

The duo would allegedly slice beef and put it in an oven that wasn’t being used, then put the beef in garbage bags and take the bags home with them.

State Police say the investigation into the stolen beef began when they were called to the Arby’s, located at 1726 E 3rd Street in Loyalsock Township, on July 31 last year just after 7:30 a.m. for a reported theft.

The restaurant owner told State Police they noticed a discrepancy in the beef sheet logs, but originally thought it was from the food being wasted. The owner says they later learned that two employees, West and Davis, were taking the beef home with them, according to the charges.

It was also reported by the manager that there was a night when Davis and West were working with each other, and they noticed the duo had sliced a large amount of roast beef. State Police say they were told the pair were eager to take the trash out, and when the manager checked the trash after they did, there was no roast beef in any of the bags.

According to Arby’s policy, extra roast beef is supposed to be thrown out unless employees are given permission to take it home, the manager told State Police.

Davis claimed she wasn’t stealing the roast beef since it was trash and denied taking anything else, while West “acknowledged” the stolen roast beef, according to the charges. State Police say West also claimed employees were allowed to have free food and drinks.

The duo was also caught on surveillance video stealing the roast beef, fried food, and “other” items, Troopers say.

Both West and Davis face felony charges of conspiracy and theft.

The duo is out on unsecured bail set at $15,000 and are scheduled to be formally arraigned Aug. 5.
